A non-denial denial

Last week Ruth Gledhill reported on her blog that the Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson, Bishop of New Hampshire would receive an invitation as an official guest but not as a regular member of the council.

Today, George Conger reports both on his blog and in the Living Church that the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury has stated "(t)here is no change to the Archbishop of Canterbury's decision not to invite the Bishop of New Hampshire to the conference as a participating bishop. It is still being explored whether Bishop Robinson might attend in another status but no invitation has been issued."

Gledhill said that Robinson would come as a "guest." The ABC's office has not ruled it out, but they are still thinking about going that route...which is exactly what Canon Kearon said when news of the invitations broke in the spring.

So what we have here is a non-denial denial. Stay tuned.
