Detention

The Episcopal/Anglican blogosphere has been alive with two days of critique, controversy, confusion and consternation concerning a letter the Archbishop of Canterbury e-mailed to Bishop Howe of Central Florida. Today, Lambeth Palace issued a clarification which may or may not have clarified things.

After all that, I wish I could issue a detention to You+Know+Who.

Andrew,
I've always appreciated the theological writings of the great Karl Barth Simpson....

Andrew, Fr Jake sent me over. This is the absolute best. Just perfect.

IMHO, the clarification does not clarify.

I would take friendly issue with the link to my post as an example of consternation.

I did poke fun at how so many of us (including myself) see the meaning we want to see in his text.

I also saw a significant development here: Proof from Canterbury that my fellow conservatives are kidding themselves if they believe that separation from The Episcopal Church is necessary to remain in fellowship with the broader Anglican Communion.

I'm over on mad Priest's recommendation - best laugh I've had in days. Many thanks.

Douglas,

I understand you point and did not mean to distort it.

This is what one gets when trying to alliterate under pressure.
